For years I’ve been using LiveJournal as another place to post my podcast, and I think it’s time to stop. For a few reasons. First, I don’t know that anyone even reads my blog. If they do, they certainly don’t listen to my podcast. Or if they listen to my podcast, then they don’t read my blog. Either way it’s a waste of time.
It used to be a simple process. Copy and paste. No formatting necessary. But then LiveJournal got rid of their legacy post page. Now it’s a chore to include hyperlinks in the text, and don’t even get me started on the tags. Even YouTube lets me copy and paste tags, but not LiveJournal, no. So it’s a pain, and an unnecessary pain at that.
That said, when I think about it, I really ought to be posting more actual content anyway. Do you know I’ve had this LiveJournal page for over 20 years now? It’s gone through a lot of changes over the years. What started as a web log for my punk rock band, to post news items and random thoughts, evolved into a place where I could explore my growing faith in Jesus Christ, and eventually came to be a place where I’m just posting links to my podcast episodes. But I feel like it ought to be more than that. I want to get back to writing my thoughts and posting theological things I’m discovering.
For example, did you know that I recently returned to college? As of August 19, I am attending (online) classes at Regent University. I’m also changing majors. At the University of the SouthWest I was majoring in Psychology, but now I’m going all-in on Biblical and Theological Studies. It’s going to be hard work but I love learning, especially about the Bible, Christianity, the Church (and Church history), and how all these things impact my life and the life of others.
So that’s the kind of thing I should be posting here. I just uploaded my latest episode to Guerrilla Christianity, which is the Lectionary Readings for this week. But you’ll have to go to the page to find it, and it won’t post until after Midnight anyway. Coz that’s how I roll.
Anyway, who knows how long this will last. Maybe forever, maybe until Monday. We’ll see.
